Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be played in casinos across the globe, or alternatively at your house on your PC, through a web connection. The rules are very straightforward and consist of the player trying to get the best mixture of cards as you can in order to win cash. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, without the involvement with competing players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless here.

The game of Video Poker starts when the bettor inserts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and presses the play button. A five card hand will then be electronically ‘handed out’ on the screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now choose which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the player would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.

After the gambler has selected which cards he would like to retain, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards are given out if desired. The hand is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.

Typically, the minimum succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable players are able to select the most profitable ones each time.

Once the first round has completed, the player can either choose to stay on and try to to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that have been won. Additionally, some versions of the game give the gambler an opportunity to double their wins, in which instance another hand is played. There are also differences among specific games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
