Electronic Poker is a favored game that can be enjoyed in casinos throughout the world, or alternatively at home on your computer, through an Internet connection. The regulations are absolutely straightforward and involve the player attempting to achieve the highest mixture of cards achievable in order to acquire cash. In this respect it’s much the same as a normal game of poker, without the interaction with competing players. Of course, techniques used in a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant here.

The game of Electronic Poker begins when the bettor inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and presses the draw button. A hand of five cards will then be electronically ‘handed out’ on the video screen.

The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and bettors should now decide which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the bettor wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the enthusiast has chosen which cards he wishes to keep, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards are handed out if desired. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.

Typically, the minimum succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payment schedule can change from game to game, so that experienced players are agile enough to select the most profitable game each instance.

Once the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that might have been won. Further, a few versions of the game give the bettor an opportunity to increase their winnings, in which case a further round is played. There are also differences among individual games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying characteristics to increase playability.
